Chrome Extension — Early Access

The extension is built and ready. Install it manually in under a minute — no store required:

Install now (unpacked)

  1. Download the extension (ZIP) and unzip it.
  2. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome.
  3. Turn on Developer mode (top right).
  4. Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
  5. Click the EUComply icon to scan your current tab.

Not in the Chrome Web Store yet — installing it this way is the only step, and it works today. Prefer no installation? Use the web scanner — same engine, same results.

Need the scan to keep running after you close the tab? EUComply Pro runs the same checks on a schedule in your own WordPress: a daily re-scan, per-check history you can read in wp-admin, and a shareable report link for your client. The extension itself is free and stays free — Pro is a WordPress licence, not an extension upgrade.

How it works

The extension uses the same public API as the web scanner — your URL is checked against nine technical signals:

HTTPS + HSTS

TLS encryption and Strict-Transport-Security header. Required by GDPR Art. 32.

Cookie consent

Detects 15+ consent platforms (Cookiebot, OneTrust, CookieYes…). ePrivacy Directive requires prior consent.

Forms & privacy link

Forms without a visible privacy-policy link are a top GDPR enforcement target (Art. 13).

Legal pages

Privacy policy, imprint, terms, and EAA statement linked from the homepage.

Security headers

CSP, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy — OWASP baseline, NIS2 Art. 21.

Platform detection

Identifies the CMS or stack (WordPress, Shopify, Next.js, etc.) — purely informational.

Why the extension?

Instant on any site

No need to copy-paste URLs. Click the icon — your current domain is pre-filled. One more click and you see the results.

Persistent score badge

The toolbar icon shows your last scan score (green/yellow/red). A quick visual indicator of compliance health for any site you visit.

Pro upgrade path

The current Pro license is for the WordPress plugin and provides editable HTML document starters plus an HTML report from the latest WordPress scan. Hosted daily monitoring is not included.

No tracking

The extension sends your target URL to the public API — nothing else. No analytics, no telemetry, no user tracking. MIT licensed, and the license text ships inside the ZIP.
